Community Care Concepts and Kiwanis Transit Partnering to Offer Free Transportation for Seniors to Vaccination Clinics

Effective Monday March 15, 2021, Community Care Concepts of Woolwich, Wellesley and Wilmot and Kiwanis Transit are partnering to offer free transportation to vaccination clinics for older adults and adults with unique needs across the Townships of Woolwich, Wellesley and Wilmot.  Individuals with pre-booked appointments for vaccinations are able to contact Community Care Concepts at 519-664-1900 or 1-855-664-1900 or Kiwanis Transit at 519-669-4533 or 1-800-461-1355 to book transportation.  Accessible transportation options are available. 

“Vaccinations are a key component of helping to protect individuals as well as those around them from contracting COVID-19.  We recognize that access to clinics can be difficult particularly for older adults and others with unique needs living in our rural communities.  We are pleased to be able to partner with Kiwanis Transit to ensure that transportation does not become a barrier to attending appointments for vaccinations,” says Cathy Harrington, Executive Director of Community Care Concepts. 

“Partnering our transportation services will give residents options with full accessibility to get to appointments.  We are also able to provide flexibility in service hours in a safe and reliable manner,” says Cheryl Fisher, General Manager of Kiwanis Transit.

Community Care Concepts offers a continuum of services that support seniors and adults with unique needs to live independently in their own homes across Woolwich, Wellesley and Wilmot Townships.  Services include Meals on Wheels, transportation to medical and other appointments, adult day programs, practical in-home support, homemaking, home maintenance, friendly visiting, community dining, social and recreational programs, support with hospital discharges and information and referral. 

Kiwanis Transit, since 1992, is the Specialized Transit Service that provides reliable, safe and accessible transportation for eligible residents of Woolwich, Wellesley and Wilmot Townships.
