The Townships Property Standards By-law sets minimum standards for the required maintenance and occupancy of properties in the Township.
Common complaints include:
- Long grass
- Debris, garbage, abandoned refrigerators and freezers in a yard
- Improper storage and disposal of refuse
- Trees, vegetation and the branches, limbs and parts thereof which create an unsafe condition due to decay, disease or being damaged, or which create a nuisance condition
- Structures, fences and retaining walls not in good repair
- Unlicensed and inoperative vehicles in a yard
- Unkempt pools and ponds
- Improper maintenance of buildings and structures - structural capability, fire damage and prevention, foundations, exterior walls, doors and windows, interior structures and surfaces, plumbing systems, heating and mechanical systems, electrical systems, recreational facilities and vacant buildings
