The Township of Wellesley has submitted an application to become a Bee City along with communities such as the City of Waterloo, the City of Kitchener and the City of Stratford in an effort to provide and promote healthy, sustainable habitats for bees and other pollinator species. Township of Wellesley Horticultural Society has taken action in applying and being awarded a United Way grant to create a pollinator garden at the community garden site. SouthWestern Integrated Fibre Technology |
When it comes to broadband Internet, there are considerable disparities in access and capacity between our rural and urban communities. The social and economic value of high-speed connectivity is set to explode over the next ten years, and unless we act now, those disparities will only grow wider and more serious in their implications. For this reason SouthWestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) is installing high speed fibre optic internet throughout the Township to better connect the residents of Wellesley Township. |

The Wellesley Pond Enhancement Project is a community collaborative working towards the enhancement of aquatic biodiversity, improvement of water quality within the reservoir, naturalization of the adjacent parkland shoreline and addition of pedestrian trails. Wellesley Pond and the Albert Erb Conservation Area provide a tremendous resource for the community to reconnect with nature through recreation opportunities such as fishing, hiking, boating, and viewing nature. The area is also a community focal point to celebrate local culture and history and has been the backdrop for hosting festivals such as Art Around the Pond, the Lions Fishing Derby and the Wellesley Apple Butter & Cheese Festival.
