What is Planting Roots?
Planting Roots is a program initiated by the Township of Wellesley with support from the Grand River Conservation authority and Enova Power to increase the amount of trees within the Township and to reduce our carbon footprint. Trees will be available to Township residents to pick up at the Administrative office at 4639 Lobsinger Line, St Clements. There is NO COST to residents for these trees. Residents are asked to bring identification to show they live or own property in Wellesley Township.
Returning for 2024 - Electronic Recycling!
The Township has partnered with Recycle My Electronics to give residents an opportunity to recycle any unused household electronics while on site for the tree giveaway. Any electronics that have a cord, battery or plug are accepted free of charge. More details are available on the Recycle My Electronics poster.
When?
Tree pick up and electronic recycling dates will be Saturday, October 19th, 2024 and Saturday, October 26th, 2024. Pick up will be from 8:00am – 12:00pm or until supplies last. There will be 600 trees available each day.
Who can get trees?
Trees are available to every household in the Township. They will be available on a first come, first served basis so be sure to arrive early for the best selection. Residential properties can receive three (3) free trees to plant on their property and farm properties can receive up to five (5) free trees to plant on their property.
