Burn Permits and Open Air Burning

Open Air Burning Permits

Open air burning is permitted in rural areas of the Township of Wellesley under strict guidelines established by the Fire Department.

Prior to burning, residents must obtain an Open Air Burn Permit by clicking the "Request a Burn Permit" button above or by contacting Fire Administration at 519-699-3969.

The Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, or District Chief may inspect the proposed burn site and materials before issuing a permit. Permits are issued for a specified period of time and may be refused if the materials do not comply with permit requirements.
