Our fall lineup features a variety of programs and activities for all ages and interests—from fitness and recreation to creative workshops and opportunities to learn something new.

Fitness Programs

This chair yoga+ is a practice made up of gentle exercises and stretches that will increase strength, flexibility, balance and body awareness. The class will provide a safe environment for everyone, while letting each person participate at their own pace and comfort level. All exercises/poses can be done while sitting on a chair or using a chair for balance. In addition, sitting or lying on the mat will be an option available.

Bootcamp with Caitlynn is a high-energy, full-body workout designed to build strength, boost endurance, and improve overall fitness. Each class includes a dynamic warm-up, a challenging full-body circuit, and a mobility-focused cool-down. You’ll use a mix of weights, mats, and bodyweight movements — all easily adaptable to any fitness level, making it beginner-friendly and completely customizable.

Mat Pilates is a low-impact, full-body workout designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, posture, and core stability. Using controlled, mindful movements on a mat, you'll build strength from the inside out while enhancing mobility and body awareness. Whether you're new to Pilates or looking to build a stronger foundation, this welcoming class offers clear guidance and options for all fitness levels. Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and comfortable clothing you can move in.

Dance Sculpt is a high-intensity fusion of Zumba and strength training. In this full-body workout, you’ll alternate between upbeat dance tracks and targeted strength intervals to keep your heart pumping and your muscles engaged. Strengthen, sweat, and sculpt while enhancing your balance, coordination, and overall conditioning.

Beginner Line Dancing

Monday Evenings • 6:30–8:00 PM
New to line dancing? No problem!
The first 30 minutes (6:30–7:00 PM) is just for new dancers—learn the basic steps in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Then stick around for the full beginner-level class from 7:00–8:00 PM, where you'll dance to a fun mix of upbeat music—not just country! From classic favorites to pop and easy-listening hits, this class is all about great music and great energy.
What to bring:
  • Comfortable shoes that slide easily (avoid grippy soles)
  • A water bottle
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to have fun!
Whether you're dancing solo or with friends, this class is perfect for anyone looking to move, laugh, and learn something new.

New to the game? Our Learn to Play lesson is the perfect way to get started! This beginner-friendly session introduces the basic skills, rules, and strategies in a fun and supportive environment. Whether you've never played before or just want to brush up on the fundamentals, this class will help you build confidence and get ready to join in on the action. All equipment is provided—just bring your enthusiasm!

Our vibrant art programs bring creativity to life through hands-on experiences designed for all ages and abilities. Whether in schools, community spaces, or virtual workshops, we inspire confidence, curiosity, and artistic growth in every participant.From painting and mixed media to innovative themed projects, our classes encourage exploration and fun in a supportive environment. A fun and active drop-in program for toddlers ages 1–4 and their parents or caregivers! Come enjoy time together in the gymnasium with a variety of toys, activities, and fun games set up for little ones to explore, play, and socialize. It’s a great opportunity for kids to burn off some energy while parents connect with other families in the community.

The Canada Safety Council Home Alone course is designed to teach children crucial skills to keep them safe when they are home alone without parental/guardian supervision.

The Canada Safety Council Babysitters course is designed to teach youth how to be successful babysitters. They will learn about child development, basic first aid, and handling situations.

November 28th 8:30am - 3:30pm

  • Caring for children from three months to school ages
  • The behavior and misbehavior of children
  • Handling emergencies
  • Caring for a sick or injured child
  • Prevention and basic first aid
Youth taking this course must be at least 12 years old as of December 31, 2026.

Looking for a cozy place to work on your creative projects? Join us for our FREE Creative Circle Drop-In Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm-9:00pm starting October 14th running until December 9th!

Bring your current crochet, knitting, sewing, embroidery, cross-stitch, quilting, or other creative project and enjoy an evening of crafting in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Whether you're looking to make progress on a project, meet fellow makers, or simply enjoy a creative night out, everyone is welcome.
Our crochet instructor will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions, offer guidance, and help troubleshoot crochet projects. While crochet support will be available, all crafters are encouraged to attend.
Bring a friend, and a coffee, and enjoy a fun, social evening of creativity with your community!

Public skating is $2 paid at the rink unless the skate is sponsored.

A fun and relaxed skating opportunity for little ones and their parents or caregivers! Introduce your child to the ice in a welcoming environment where they can build confidence, practice their skating skills, and enjoy some quality time together. Perfect for young skaters just getting started!

Thursdays: Bill Gies Rec. Centre: 10am-11am 

Cost: $2.00 per adult, Tots skate for free!

Enjoy a leisurely skate and some time on the ice with friends! Senior Skate is a relaxed, welcoming opportunity to stay active, socialize, and enjoy the rink at your own pace. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Community Care Concepts, Senior Skate is FREE for all participants!

Hit the ice and work on your hockey skills! Stick & Puck is open to all ages and provides an opportunity to practice skating, stickhandling, shooting, and passing in a casual setting. Participants are asked to skate safely, control their shots, and be mindful of others on the ice to ensure everyone can enjoy the session.

Looking to stay active, meet new people, and have some fun? Join us for drop-in sports at the Bill Gies Recreation Centre! Whether you’re into pickleball, basketball, volleyball, or just want to get moving, our drop-in programs are a great way to play without the commitment of a full season.

Refunds & Transfers Policy

We will gladly issue a refund for 100% of the cost of the activity charged to you provided the activity withdrawal request is received up to and including 5 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR to the activity start date. 

If after attending the first class you decide a program is not right for you, we are happy to issue a pro-rated refund. This request must be made at least a day prior to the start of the second class. Refunds will be subject to an administrative fee of 10% to up to $25.00.  If you wish to leave funds on your account, there will be no administrative fee and credit will stay on file for 36 months.

Missed classes, outside of facility closures due to weather or instructor cancellations, will NOT be refunded or credited to account. 

Refunds or credits will not be issued for withdrawal after the second class. Special circumstances may be considered by the Director of Recreation and may require supporting documentation.
