Township of Wellesley Partners with Woolwich Community Health Centre to Provide Improved Health Care in Linwood, Ontario

March 19, 2026, Linwood, ON – The Township of Wellesley is excited to announce a Joint venture with Woolwich Community Health Centre to construct a new, expanded medical facility in Linwood, Ontario, attached to the Linwood Community Centre. This initiative builds on the success of a similar partnership between the two organizations at the Jones Family Health and Wellness Centre, located at the Township of Wellesley Recreation Complex at 1401 Queens Bush Road, Wellesley, Ontario.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held this morning at the site, located at 5279 Ament Line, Linwood, Ontario, marking commencement of construction. When complete, the Linwood Health Centre will replace the current Linwood Nurse Practitioners office and offer over 2000 square feet of space to provide primary health care for residents in the area as well as a pharmacy.

The cost of constructing the Health Centre is being funded through generous local donations. Medical services will be fully provided by Woolwich Community Health Centre with the Township of Wellesley providing the land and property maintenance for the clinic.

Mayor Joe Nowak welcomes the opportunity to expand health care in the Linwood area. “We are extremely grateful for the generous donations and the unwavering commitment of the local community and Woolwich Community Health Centre to bring this new health centre to life.” said Mayor Nowak. “Partnerships like this one demonstrate what communities can do when we work together.”

Woolwich Community Health Centre CEO Ben Hesch added “Access to primary health care is essential for healthy, thriving communities. This partnership demonstrates how municipalities, health providers, and community donors can come together to create sustainable solutions that improve health equity in rural areas.”

The Health Centre is expected to open later this year. An opening date will be determined and announced as the project progresses.
