Facility Rentals

The Township of Wellesley offers great facilities that are available for rent for sporting events, private parties, meetings, and special events. See below for available facilities, amenities, policies, and insurance information.

If you are interested in booking a community hall, or gymnasium for an event, please complete the Booking Request Form.

Rates below do not include all additional fees or charges. These fees vary by booking and may include a damage deposit, set-up day, clean-up day, alcohol surcharges, and/or other costs.

Township of Wellesley Recreation Complex

The arena changes seasonally, with the ice surface typically available from September 1 to March 31, while the floor surface is typically available from April to August.

Non-Prime Time Hourly Rate: $145.00 + HST per 50-minute hour

Prime Time: Monday to Friday from 5:00pm-11:00pm and all-day Saturday & Sunday

This rink is ideal for hockey practices, hockey tournaments and curling.

Floor Surface
Hourly Rate: $55.00 + HST 
Daily Rate: $724.00 + HST 

This location is ideal for floor hockey and events.

The Community Room overlooks the arena pad and is a perfect location for small gatherings and private parties.

Meeting Room

The Meeting Room(s) offers a dividable wall to separate your function and is ideal for small meetings or gatherings.

Half Room (Room 201 with sink)

This multi-use gymnasium is suitable for various sports including badminton, basketball, pickleball, and volleyball. This space is also ideal for weddings and public events with access to a commercial kitchen.

Hourly Rate: $62.00 + HST per hour (no access to commercial kitchen)
Daily Rate: $667.00 + HST (includes commercial kitchen)

    • 2 Badminton Courts

All multi-sports pads in the Township operate on a first-come, first-served basis at no cost. Renting a sports pad secures the space for an event. The Township of Wellesley multi-sports pad has two courts available to rent.

Hourly Rate: $25.00 + HST per court

  • Features: Basketball court, multi-sport court, pickleball and tennis.
  • Availability: May 1 to September 30

There are two soccer fields available to rent for your soccer or other sporting needs.

Downtown Wellesley Fields and Diamonds

The Wellesley Recreation Complex offers two ball diamonds available to rent with lights available on both diamonds.

Hourly Rate: $45.00 + HST

The Wellesley Recreation Complex offers a Picnic Shelter for events or small gatherings such as birthday parties.

Full Day Rate: $64.00 + HST

The Wellesley Recreation Complex offers full size and mini size soccer fields to rent for your soccer and sporting needs.

Full Size Hourly Rate: $47.00 + HST

Mini Size Hourly Rate: $25.00 + HST

Hawkesville Community Centre

The Hawkesville Community Centre offers two community rooms in a welcoming facility for a wide range of community events and gatherings.

Daily Rate: $246.00 + HST

  • Dimensions:
    • Upper Floor: 33'x47'
    • Lower Floor: 23'x44'
  • Accessibility: Ramp to upper level and washrooms on both levels
  • Amenities: Tables, chairs, coat racks, platform/stage (upper floor) and commercial kitchen. Dishes not supplied.
  • Hours: 8:00am-Midnight

This is a dry facility, no alcohol permitted.

The Community Centre Halls are ideal for community events and social gatherings such as weddings or stag and does. The large hall and small hall (Lion's Den) are both available to rent.

Recreation Policies

Any event at a Township of Wellesley facility that will be serving or selling alcohol, the renters must adhere to the Townships Municipal Alcohol Policy. As a renter, you must complete this form and return to the office prior to your rental and it is your responsibility to ensure you are in compliance at all times. 

To ensure transparency with ice rentals at any of the Township of Wellesley ice pads, the Recreation Dept. has a policy that applies to all users. The Ice Allocation policy is available as a resource to the public or you may email Michelle at mlamontagne@wellesley.ca with any comments or questions.

Insurance is required for all bookings. If alcohol is not being served or sold, you may request a quote from the Township's Recreation Facilities Administrator for event liability insurance coverage through a third party vendor. You may choose to obtain a Certificate of Insurance (COI) through another insurance provider. 

More Information for Ice and Ball Diamond Times

The Township of Wellesley typically has ice available from September 1 to March 31. A dry floor surface is typically available from April to August and can be rented for various activities.

All ice inquiries and bookings must be done through the Recreation Department by calling 519-699-9369 or emailing Michelle at mlamontagne@wellesley.ca 

Ice time rentals are based on a 50 minute hour. The cost to rent ice depends on the time of day (prime time versus non-prime time hours.) Please see Fees and Charges By-law for pricing.

As per our rental contract, facility users are required to have $2,000,000 to $5,000,000 in liability insurance any time they rent a municipal facility. If your group/organization already has an insurance policy, a copy of your policy must be submitted to the Township of Wellesley prior to the start of your rental. If your group does not have insurance, it may be purchased through the Township of Wellesley's third party provider, GameDay, or purchased from another insurance provider.

Important: All insurance policies must name the "Township of Wellesley" as additional insured for the dates the facility is being used, cross liability, severability of interests and alcohol liability if alcohol is being served with proper permits.
